Mailers

Designing mailers is the grudge work in the design industry. I don’t necessarily enjoy the idea of doing mailers, but once a spark is lit or an idea begins taking shape, I find it quite enjoyable.

I’ve tried to explore possibilities with mailers over the years, be it with campaign adapts like the ones I designed for Adobe or emailers that showcased brand identity, like the ones for Hug’s range of smartwatches.

Context

Acer, the global technology giant, wanted to market its new line of gaming laptops, the Predator Helios 300 range, as the frontier in gaming technology. The communication was “Make More Enemies”, highlighting how the cutting edge laptops will earn one only more enemies in the gaming arena, but the visuals had to bring out the “otherworldly” aspect of the technology. Hence, we visualized it as a portal to another dimension, one that transports you in the middle of the gaming action, in the many fantastical worlds of video games.
